About Us

PCS is a non-profit organization dedicated to catering to Punjabi residents of Michigan. As a Punjabi NGO, we’ve spread our humanitarian services beyond the shores of Michigan to other four  branches in other states. Our Punjabi founders build the organization with the mandate to provide community services to the people of Punjabi across the globe. In addition to  Michigan, our services are available to the residents
of Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, and Wisconsin.

In addition to catering to the basic needs of the Punjabi community in Michigan, we also provide entertainment services to the residents. We oversee and help with securing the perfect venue for a memorable Punjabi event to preserve and sustain our culture and heritage. PCS takes pride in the Punjabi heritage and culture and believes that our stories, arts, and food should be shared with the world.

mEET OUR TEAM

Youth Services

We are firm believers that the youth are our future and any plan to spread the Punjabi culture must include them. At PCS, we have made it our mission to serve the Punjabi community by including the youth in our activities. Our services include training the Youth in the Punjabi ways and ensuring the culture is passed on to generations to come.

As part of our services, we teach the Punjabi language to the next generation. We  believe that passing on the language is the first step to passing down the Punjabi culture. In addition to teaching the language, our services also include teaching the Gurmukhi. We also include the teachings of both the Bhangra and Gidha. The dance culture is an essential part of being a Punjabi which is why we help our youths through dance classes with moral-filled Punjabi songs

New Immigrant Services

Moving to a new country is never easy and can present a lot of challenges. The moving process can be made easier once you have the right help. At PCS, we offer immigration services to new Punjabi immigrants to the USA. For now, our services are focused on the five states where we have offices, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana.

Part of our new immigrant services is to help the person get settled in their new surroundings. We also introduce them to other Punjabi families in the same community close to help them acclimatize faster.
PCS in Michigan offers support in any capacity to new immigrants including financial assistance and networking privileges. The goal is to help the new immigrants settle and feel at home, and the first step to doing that is to make them feel more comfortable.

Food and Groceries

Anyone can find themselves in hard times and need a little assistance to ride out the storm. In some cases, adjusting to life in a new country as a Punjab can come with a few challenges. As part of our services, we assist community members who are in need with basic feeding needs.

We are dedicated to keeping as many Punjabi residents as possible of the Michigan community out of starvation and lack.  As part of our services, we also provide other essential items to those who are in need, especially items they need to survive on. As part of our services, we listen to the complaints of the community members  regarding their needs. With the help of our sponsors, we can provide whatever our Punjabi residents need provided the organization can afford them. We believe that by meeting the needs of the community members, we can spread the Punjabi culture to the rest of the world.

Networking

Our services also include helping the Punjabi members build a network of friends and acquaintances that will help them thrive and grow in the United States. We organize events and outreach programs to help connect Punjabi residents in the community. Residents can have access to prominent Punjabi members in Michigan during these events or programs. We also help connect the younger members of the community to the older members.

Networking has been the bedrock of our organization and how we’ve achieved the tremendous work we showcase over the years. Our volunteers are trained to present new ideas and exciting tasks to help Punjabi members in the community work together on community-building projects. PCS helps to keep the Punjabi members of the community connected and constantly bring them together.

Cultural Events

As with every culture, the Punjabi heritage is filled with events and celebrations. At PCS, we believe in keeping and sustaining the core of the Punjabi culture through the celebration of our heritage. Our services include hosting and organizing Punjabi cultural events, filled with cultural activities and dancing.
We have helped rebrand our events to make them fit the style of younger generations without losing the core of the Punjabi culture.
In addition to keeping the culture alive through events, we also aim to keep our community members connected through these events.

Our cultural events are filled with various sections to engage every attendee and participant in the Punjabi culture. PCS in Michigan offers cultural event services that include hosting folk singing, Bhangra, and Gidha with all the indigenous features of a Punjabi event.

Social Cause

As part of our dedication to preserving and sustaining the Punjabi culture, we ensure our Punjabi residents acknowledge and respect other cultures.

We stand with social causes, lending our voices in support of those who require our assistance. As part of our current social causes, we are currently supporting different oppressed groups globally.

Social causes extend beyond cultural boundaries, into the confines of humanity. We are currently offering our services to the victims of social injustice in Europe, Africa, and beyond. We fully support the farmers’ protest in India and are in support of Ukraine in the fight against Russia. The actions of Russia against Ukraine are uncalled for, and we condemn such an invasion. It is our goal at PCS, to see both the farmers in India and the people of Ukraine free from the hands of their oppressors.
